Wound Care

Our Mission:
To treat diabetic foot complications and other chronic wounds in the most clinically effective and cost conscious manner. We implement standards to prevent chronic wounds, minimizing the need for treatment. These standards also increase our patients' quality of life and benefit payers, enabling our center to succeed.

Our Goal:
Our goal at the Diabetic Foot & Wound Center is to stay on the leading edge of wound healing.

Clinical Outcomes:
The great majority of our patients have diabetic and neuropathic foot ulcers, so we have taken particular interest in following the guidelines established by the Diabetic Wound Center in Denver. Their protocols result in exceptional outcomes. Over three years they tracked 223 neuropathic foot ulcers. The results of their treatment are shown here.

Referrals
Referral Resource: Your goal is to provide the best possible care to these patients, but how do you accomplish this with out taking valuable time away from others who need your attention? The Diabetic Foot & Wound Center offers physicians a referral resource dedicated to treating non-healing diabetic or neuropathic foot ulcers.

When to Refer
Referrals to the Clinic are appropriate for any of the following conditions:

  • Sensory Neuropathy
  • Peripheral Vascular Disease
  • Musculoskeletal Deformity (such as Charcot, Neuroarthropathy or Hammertoes)
  • Excessive redness at pressure points within shoes.
  • Any break in the skin.
  • Ingrown nails (not painful due to neuropathy)
