• Is an advanced Ham Radio Operator  call sign N7JZW. He served the Army Mars net work for three years, and assisted during Desert Storm.
• Is active in several clubs and operates gas radio controlled boats, cars, and airplanes.
• Is on the Board of Directors for a local Credit Union.
• His wife is Daenette Coons.  They have been married since 1970.
• They have three Girls and three Boys one of whom was drafted by the New York Mets in 1995 to play baseball.
